My lessons on leadership

Dear reader,

This is my first blog … want to use this platform to share my thoughts on leadership, and lessons for managers that I draw from daily experiences, often from sports. Hope you enjoy reading them….and would welcome comments and criticism….will help shape my thinking over time.

So here goes ….

What does Leadership mean to you?

Leadership means different things to different people. I would like to share what leadership means to me

•Leadership means setting high goals and striving to achieve them
•Leadership means not being afraid of failure; of using failure as a lesson to learn a new way of doing things
•Leadership means taking responsibility, for our successes and failures
•Leadership means never giving up, of trying harder and harder till you achieve
•Leadership means walking with confidence, with the spirit of an achiever. Leadership gives me pride and energy

This was a brief note I shared with my team a few weeks back and thought it might be of interest to some of you…..

    Truely Inspiring.
I feel leadership also means to give time to your peoples. Your team should feel that it’s a family and not only work place. Once team is happy, satisfied and allingned to you, a leader undoubtedly can achieve all the goals and targets.
I have been a part of my team as leader, where i have seen my team members, never cribbing for the work pressure or extra time or extra work. This was only because we all worked as family members & friends and everyone wanted the organisation to grow.
In the morning I have scolded them for some uncompleted task but in the evening I took them for a coffee or beer.
At the end of the day everyone is happy and satisfied.
